In France, the main producers of radwastes are EDF, COGEMA and its subsidiaries in the frame of the fuel cycle activities, CEA for the research activities principally on reactors or the fuel cycle. The management and treatment of radwastes are mainly performed by ANDRA, COGEMA, EDF and CEA.
