Heat transfer downstream a single micro pillar, with and without a jet in a microchannel was experimentally studied. By comparing the thermal performances of a plain microchannel, a microchannel with a pillar, and a microchannel with a jet issued from a pillar, the effect of this scheme was evaluated. An enhancement of Nusselt number of up to 100% was observed.
