Micro-injection moulding is one of the most efficient technologies for large-scale manufacturing of thermoplastic polymer micro parts. Growing demands for high precision require new concepts for moulding machines and micro moulds on the one hand and a better understanding of the process characteristics on the other hand. Especially, moulding micro features of high aspect ratios still remains a challenge due to the high surface-to-volume ratio of the part which makes the melt freeze-in much faster than in conventional injection moulding.
