Abstract

Liquid Radwaste Systems (LRS) are designed to remove undissolved solids out of fuel pool water, sump water and laundry waste water and to fill those solids dewatered into drums. An essential requirement was the removal of 0.1 μm particles. After fabrication the modularized systems have been prepared in Germany for internal and for shop performance testing. Within this testing the specified guarantee values for the separation of solids, especialy the removal of 0.1 μm particles were met. The erection was finished at Younggwang (YGN) NPP Units 5&6 in spring 2001 and the start up including preoperational test took place in summer 2001.
