This paper investigates the effects of periodic thermal conditions on the thermal performance of a convective fin. The environment heat transfer coefficient and thermal conductivity coefficient are assumed to be constant. The periodic oscillation of the base temperature is considered. An efficient numerical method which is called collocation method is used to solve the linear hyperbolic heat conduction equation. The results obtained lead to the conclusion that the efficiency of the fin is decreased if the frequency of the temperature oscillation goes up. Good agreement between numerical results and similar previous special cases confirm the validity of the presented algorithm.
