The wavelet expansion is used in order to evaluate the angular dependence of the intensity in the solution of the radiation transfer equation (RTE). The radiation intensity is expanded in terms of orthogonal Daubechies’ wavelet basis in the angular domain. This method is applied to a steady two-dimensional rectangular enclosure containing a homogenous, absorbing, emitting and non-scattering medium with uniform heat generation cold black walls. The nondimensionalized emissive power and the nondimensional heat flux results for various optical depths are given and compared with the DOIM and zonal method solutions.
