This work carries out a proof of concept analysis of equipment for distributed thermal storage, using ice as storage media and air flow inside plastic tubes for recovery. By making a certain number of simplifying assumptions, a model is developed and the performance curves for the apparatus calculated. Results are applied in sizing a prototype. The validity of the assumptions is discussed. In conclusion, the paper indicates that an apparatus for the intended purpose is feasible and worthy of further development.
