Abstract

The compressor blade which operates at higher pressure and higher temperature conditions are made out of titanium alloys. The fatigue life of the compressor blade depends on load, geometry and material. In material, parameters like Young’s modulus, ultimate tensile strength and fatigue strength plays a vital role in fatigue life. The scatter / variation in each parameter’s influence the fatigue life. The compressor rotor blade under study is analyzed for material properties scatter. The stress scatter and corresponding material parameters were used to estimate the fatigue life scatter. The reliability analysis was carried out on fatigue scatter. The influence of each material parameter was studied on fatigue life of the blade. The parametric analysis was done to find out the influence of each mechanical properties effect on compressor blade fatigue life.
