A pragmatic approach is a major feature of the training of combustion engineers at Laval. An introduction is given in a second year thermodynamic course and (optionally) this is enhanced by a theoretical course and a design course. At the graduate level advanced theory is studied, together with a ‘hands-on’ experiment. Theses subjects are available at both Masters and Doctorate levels.
