The ERCOFTAC Association is formed by research groups from Academic, Governmental or Industrial institutions and Industry, actively engaged in the advancement of knowledge and applications of Flow, Turbulence and Combustion. The research activities are based on a double network structure, formed by the Pilot Centres (PC) and the Special Interest Groups (SIG). The PC’s are regional networks, generally of federative nature, formed by research and industrial groups within a geographical defined region. The SIG’s, on the other hand, are based on specific, well defined scientific topics. A Scientific Program Committee ensures coordination and guidelines. Several examples of activities and benefits of the ERCOFTAC framework are described in this presentation.
