Broadening of fuel specifications decreases the hydrogen content and increases the aromatics and final boiling point. The cumulative effect will be an increase in soot formation hence flame radiation which affects flame tube durability.

In this work an analytical study is made where empirical formulae are developed for luminosity, radiation and convection at idle and full load conditions. These equations predict combustor liner temperature with high degree of agreement with previous experimental work.
