As part of an overall program to support an application involving a medium BTU fuel gas consisting of carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons, experiments have been carried out on a scale combustor to examine the implications for design. The test program was designed to investigate the effect of mass and velocity loading, primary zone stoichiometry and fuel composition. Total gas analyses were carried out for O2, CO, CO2, NOx, and unburned hydrocarbons. The method of linear regression analysis has provided a rapid means for rationalizing data obtained from the model combustor which could then be used to predict full scale combustor performance.
