Nowadays many research works have been conducted on improving the directional instability of aircraft by adopting forebody strake, but there is lack of deep understanding about the flow mechanism. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the directional characteristics of one typical configuration and promote improved method by forebody strakes. Furthermore, the flow mechanism will also be studied in detail. All the studies are finished by the CFD method at free-stream Reynold number 4.6e+5 and 4° side slip.
