With the method of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), this paper simulated the internal steady flow field in the switch room of the ChengGuan hydropower plant before and after improvement in Shaxian of Fujian province, and did the same to the temperature distribution and flow rules. It demonstrates that the simulation results are in reasonable agreement with the experimental results, which shows the correctness of design method using steady flow field theory. On the basis, it also improved the ventilation plan and measured the results, proving that ventilation was reinforced significantly after improvement. This method can be used to guide and optimize the design for the ventilation in hydropower plant.
