This paper deals with the 2D measurement of non-stationary flow fields in elastic tubes. The requirements of the model (transparency and tracking) were consistent with the principles of the PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) method. In addition, the paper describes the production of elastic models, the measurement procedures and image processing. The analysis shows the main differences between the flow field measurements in rigid and elastic tubes. The flow field was measured during one period of oscillating flow under different conditions (Womersley number 5 and 7). The obtained velocity fields were formalized with normalized velocity profiles. In both cases, the fluctuation of velocity was analyzed for the whole period.
