This paper contains measurement of local void fraction by using the capacitance and the auto-transformer techniques in bubbly air-water two-phase simulation flow. The uncertainty in void fraction measurement by the two techniques was compared with those measured by nuclear radiation techniques used by Kendoush (1992) and Kendoush and Sarkis (2002). It was found that the auto-transformer and the capacitance techniques have more accurate results than the γ-ray attenuation and neutron transmission techniques. The X-rays technique has less uncertainty in void fraction measurement as compared to the auto-transformer and the capacitance techniques.
