An orifice is a good tool to measure flow through pipeline systems. It will be a better one, if its loss is sufficiently reduced. Authors proposed a method to install a diffuser component downstream of an orifice plate for loss reduction. This orifice flowmeter with a separable diffuser will be widely applicable to the flow measurement, if the strong noise is reduced in an air flow system. For this purpose, we have computed the steady flow from an orifice by a turbulent flow analysis and decided the inlet diameter of downstream diffuser for those orifice plates with diameter ratios of 0.4, 0.5 and 0.7 respectively. This paper shows typical experimental results, which show the present design method is better than the previous one.
