Pneumatic drives systems have specific working conditions like smell-less and invisible power fluid, almost dry friction regime in sealing etc.. All these, nest to the impossibility to collect and measure the leakage, make difficult to establish the moment when the first leakage occur and the evolution of drive’s seal efficiency after that. Assuming that in case of non-metallic rod drives the temperature has particular distribution, the paper propose a thermography based method to monitor and evaluate the pneumatic seals’ leakage, on the fly, without suspend the system duty.
